Jerry P. Sexton

October 10, 1952 — January 31, 2017

Jerry P. Sexton, 64, of Wharton, WV went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2017 after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by parents, Betty Jo and Kelly Sexton; brother, James; father and mother in-law, Delmer and Jeanie Wallace; brothers-in-law, Davy and Gary Wallace.

He was a member of Cazy Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from Boone County Schools, Eastern Coal Company and was also a board member of Boone County City P.S.D. He loved to fish and cook and he enjoyed his garden.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marilyn Sexton; sister, Shelia (Kyle) Worrell of South Carolina, sister-in-law, Susan Sexton of Wharton, Elizabeth Johnson of Van, Olivia Wallace Bryant, and Edith Wallace of Colorado; good friends, Don Blair and June and Mark Cobb,and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be conducted by Pastor Chip Frame at 2 p.m. Friday, February 3 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville. Singers will be Alisha Hunt and Timmy Spratt. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison with pallbearers, Brian Price, Justin Estep, Oscar Tennant, Bud Cocheran and Mark Cobb. Honorary pallbearer is Jimmy Puckett.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
