Jimmy “Clate” Dale Cooper, 72, of Peytona was born March 27, 1940 to the late Arlie and Nanie Cooper and died September 26, 2012.
He was a father and a grandfather. He loved the Lord Jesus and wanted to change the world one person at a time. He seldom passed a stranger on the street and if the stranger was in need he was always willing to help. Music was his passion. For every circumstance in life he had a song, whether it was love, hurt or laughter. He was one of the greatest musicians that walked the earth.
If he could speak he would say, “Don’t cry for me, I’m in a better place, my life was full of love and laughter, look to Jesus for he will give you comfort.”
We love you Daddy, love your children.
He is survived by his children, Johnnie Dale (Lori) Cooper, Angel Ann (Lester) Tanner and Shane (Destiny) Cooper; one brother, Haskel Cooper; five grandchildren, Kimberly Smith, Zechariah Cooper, Jeremiah Holstein, Noel Zuniga and Eli Shane Cooper; four great-grandchildren, Audriaunna Smith, Tabatha Smith, Avalee Smith and Ryan Lee Zuniga.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 4 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Lester Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Godby.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
