Jo Anna Cozad, 55, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at her home in Hurricane. Jo Anna was a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education and a Masters in Elementary and School Administration. She was a retired Putnam County teacher with 25 years experience and a love for the children she taught.
Jo Anna was preceded in death by her loving father, Harvey Hill. Surviviors include her husband Mike; her beloved son Chandler DeBord; mother Naomi Hatfield (Ron); sisters, Nancy Faulkner (Bruce) and Julia Silva (Gary); and brother Tim Hill (Angela).
She was a special “Aunt Jo” to nieces and nephews Tyler and Peyton Hill, Traci Linville, Amber Browning (Jereme), JuliaAnna Nelson (Dan), Matthew Faulkner (Jordan) and Adrianna Muster (Will). Great-nieces and nephews include Bentlee Workman, Aayla, Aalia, Archer, and Jereme Browning, Kaylee and Kadan Nelson, J.W. Muster, and Cameron and Piper Faulkner. Lexie, Jo Anna’s little Yorkie, will miss her “mommy”.
Funeral services in remembrance of Jo Anna will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, West Virginia. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
