John Patrick Goode Sr.

John Patrick Goode Sr., 47, of Julian went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 20, 2020 after a short illness.
John was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his parents, James “PeeWee” and Joan Goode of Julian; his son, John Patrick Goode Jr. of Robinson; his daughter, Lillian Messer and her husband Trae of Brinton; the mother of his children, Ella Goode of Newport; his sister, Joleen Goode of Tappahannock, VA; nieces and nephews, Joanetta Lesser and family of Big Ugly, Kacey Goode and family of Denver, CO, , and Nikki Mitchell and family of Coles Pt. VA; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother James Jeffery Goode of Low Gap; grandparents Jefferson and Easter Sutphin of Big Ugly and Earl and Bertha Goode of KY and his fiancé Kelly Hager of Low Gap.
John was a man with a big heart and loving nature to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and thought of often.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with Hobert McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Fankhauser Family Cemetery, Madison with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 of Madison, WV.
Friends may call from 1 pm until service time at the funeral home.
