John Phillip Shirkey

John Phillip Shirkey 72, of Turtle Creek, WV passed away Wednesday November 9, 2022. He was born October 7, 1950, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Emma Ruth Stollings Shirkey. He was a retired coal miner from Long Branch Energy and a member of the Danville Church of Christ for over 32 years where he was the song leader.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Kista Shirkey; son Matt Shirkey (Debbie) Quisenberry; stepson Jamie Ball; brother Gary Wayne Shirkey (Debbie) Miller; and grandson Nathan Shirkey (Cholee).
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday November 12, 2022, at Handley Funeral Home Danville, WV with Richard Runyon officiating. Burial will follow at Boone Memorial Park Madison, WV.
