Johnny Dale Burgess, age 49, of Madison, WV passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 13, 2019. Johnny was born July 16, 1970 in Madison, WV, to the late Diana Gay Pauley and the late Rex Stone.
Johnny was a graduate of Scott High School where he excelled in football, Burgess #45. After high school he spent several years working as a coal miner in the WV Coal Fields.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his younger brother, Randy Burgess.
He is survived by his two biological sons, Chazz Lynch of Charleston and Jayden Clark of Foster; his girlfriend, Deidra Dingess of Charleston; sister, Melissa Jefferson of Maryland; nephews, Jarrod Tully of Charleston, Blake Tully of Georgia, Marshall (Kaitlyn) Tully of Madison, Chase Tully of Morrisvale and Wilson Jefferson II of Maryland; niece, Gabrielle Jefferson of Maryland; half-brothers, Rex Stone and Tim Stone of Mason County; half-sisters, Lora Stone of Mason County, Donna Vorbach of Boone County, Sherry Mahone and Jennifer Stewart of Jackson County; additional nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
There will be a graveside service at Memory Gardens, Madison, WV on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Geoff Saunders officiating.
Handley Funeral Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements.
