Mr. Jon Rea age 76, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday September 2, 2015 at CMC-Northeast.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday September 5th at Hickory Grove Baptist Church North Campus. A service of celebration will follow at 11:30 with Pastors, Eric Eanes, Justin Paslay and Kyler Smith officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday September 7th at Madison Memory Gardens, Madison, WV.
Jon was born June 20, 1939 in Whitesville, WV to the late James Harlan Rea and Gladys Hopkins Rea. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James H. Rea, Jr.
Jon was an active member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church North Campus where he served on the finance committee and was a member of Kemper Sunday school class. He had also been a volunteer with Cabarrus Meals On Wheels for many years. Jon enjoyed traveling, reading, taking long walks and all sports. He was the best husband, father and grandfather who will be missed beyond words. Our hearts are broken but we rejoice in knowing that he is with his Lord.
Surviving Jon is his loving wife of 55 years Martha Hall Rea; daughter, Leslie Stella and husband, Frank of Coral Springs, Fl.; son, Jon C. Rea and wife, Cathy of Denver, NC; grandchildren, McKenzie, Landon and Kerrington Rea, Samantha and Jessica Stella; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Ann Johnson and husband, Charles and Sharon Holestin and husband, Greg; several nieces and nephews, his childhood best friend, Jack Holstein and other loving relatives and friends
