Joseph K. Mollohan, Sr., of Peytona, WV passed away peacefully on December 3rd. He was born to Thurman Roscoe and Myrtle Ruth Metz Mollohan, who preceded him in death.
He was the devoted husband of Linda Kay Workman Mollohan, his beloved partner for 55 years. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. He was the cherished father of Robyn Marie (Mark) Starcher of Salisbury, NC and Joseph (Leah) Mollohan of Springfield, TN. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Pyper and (Dalton) Jones, Brady Starcher, Trey, Lelia, Brayden, Cole, and Stephen.
Joe graduated from Dupont High School in 1968. He was a member of the Rand Volunteer Fire Department for nine years and served as the Assistant Chief for three years. He was also dedicated to his career at Walker Machinery, where he worked as a skilled diesel mechanic before his well-earned retirement. His work ethic and craftsmanship were a testament to his character and commitment to excellence. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of the Peytona Church of Christ, where he nurtured his spiritual life and found fellowship with his church family.
He is survived by his brothers Kenneth of Charleston, WV, and Mike of Poca, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Stephen Allen Mollohan and his sisters Phyllis Ann Goolsby and Sara Frances Huffman. Joe will be remembered for his steadfast love, humility, and unwavering dedication to his family and faith. His presence in the lives of those who knew him was a blessing, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Services will be held at Peytona Church of Christ on Saturday December 7th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and funeral to follow at 11:00am. Joe will be laid to rest in the Boggs-Mollohan cemetery in Big Otter, WV.
