Joseph Michael West, 23, of Clendenin was born into this world on August 20, 1991 to Theresa Lynn (Holsten) West and the late Randy Joe West. He left for his heavenly home on July 6, 2015.
Mike, as he was known, attended Herbert Hoover High School and was a 2009 graduate of the Mountaineer Challenge Academy. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing his guitar.
Mike leaves behind a multitude of loved ones who will miss him dearly including: his cherished son, Kayden Michael West; brothers Ryan (Amanda), Chris (Maria), Nick West, and Josh Armstrong, a cousin who was more like a brother; sisters Cassie (Jake) Bowman, Brandi (Keith) Dickerson, and Melissa (Joe) Gurski; 13 nieces and nephews; 1 great nephew; aunts Linda (Tracy) Surface and Becky (Phil) Weaver; uncle Joe Holsten; maternal grandmother Maryann Holsten; and long time girlfriend Amanda Short.
He was greeted in heaven by his father and his maternal grandfather, Cleveland Holsten.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Phil Rowe officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
