Julian Braxton “Junior” Sigmon of Barrett, WV passed away May 19, 2014, at the age of 89. Junior was born April 12, 1925, in Seacoal, WV. He was the son of the late Julian and Nellie Faye Sigmon. Junior was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was a member of the UMWA. He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Mae Sigmon; brothers Tunsil, Virgil, Pete, Paul and George Sigmon; and sisters Louise and Edna Sigmon.
He is survived by two brothers Charles and Kendo Sigmon and two sisters Faye Grounds and Betty Underwood. He is also survived by sons Paul (Ellena), Greg (Nancy), Doc (Beckee), Chris (Brenda) and Gary Sigmon; and daughters Brenda Frederickson, Cassie Sigmon (Shawn Roberts), Kim Daniels (Chris) and Tena Sigmon (Brian Mayfield). He is also survived by grandchildren Bruce Sigmon (Eileen), J.P. Sigmon (Jaclyn), Jennifer and Chad Frederickson, Allison Abbott (Eric), Greggie Sigmon, Jeremy Short (Rowena), Makenzie Sigmon, Miranda McCarty (Nick), Michael Wooten, Kayla Evans (Mike), Christopher Sweat (Jennifer), George Quinn and Cruz Sigmon. Junior also had seventeen great grandchildren and a host of great friends.
A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 1:00 pm at the Wharton Community Center. In lieu of flowers and other memorials a donation may be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
