Karen Workman Bichard

Karen Workman Bichard, 77, of Branchland WV, went to her heavenly home on November 30, 2021.

Mrs. Bichard was born March 15, 1944 in Rita, WV to the late Clyde and Gladys Farley. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Rev Raymond Workman of Branchland, WV; and brother Fred Farley of Harts WV.

Karen was a woman of Faith. She had a deep love for the Word of God, and it wasn’t just her faith and love to the Lord, her family meant everything to her. We will always remember her for her loving nature, her playfulness, and her occasional, endearing stubbornness. Karen spent her life devoting herself not only to God but caring for others. She was a CNA for Morris Memorial. Karen’s proudest moment was when she obtained a position at Cabell Huntington Hospital as a medical clerk that she obtained by her wittiness and persistence. Karen’s ability to care for others goes further than just a job or title, she was a loving and caring friend to anyone she met - she didn’t know a stranger. Karen’s favorite past time was camping at East Lynn Lake, spending time with her friends and family, going to the beach (even though she didn’t like sand), and attending Church.

Survived by her daughters Sandra (Dwayne) Hicks and Suzann (Charles) Lewis of Branchland, WV, Rodger and Rosa Farley of Chapmanville WV, and Charlotte Benjamin of Spokane WA; her sister-in-law Carol Farley of Harts WV; husband Richard Bichard of Branchland, WV; bonus daughters Dickey (Tonya) Kiggans and April Engles of Cambridge, OH, and Casey (Telia) Little of Vero Beach, FL; a host of Grandchildren, Kaygan (Haley) Hutchison, Morgan (Eugene) Spurlock, Raeleigh Workman, Isabella Workman, Summer Hicks, Emily (Blake and Gage) Lewis, Rebekah (Jonathan, Lyra, and Jacklynn) Mathney, David and (Katelyn and Derik Hicks), Daryl Hicks ,Jaden Kiggans, Derek Kiggans, Josh Bichard, Tony Bichard, Ricky Bichard, Adam Engles, Austin Dickens, Kristen Little, Zachariah Little, Deanna Messinger and Nanette Messinger; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday December 3, 2021 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV with Moses Vance officiating. The burial will follow in Fairview Memory Gardens, Hamlin, WV.
