Karl Edward Gent

Karl Edward Gent, 82, of Foster, WV, formerly of Barrett, WV, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2024, following a short illness, with his family by his side.   

Karl Ed was born November 16, 1941, in Logan County, WV.  He was the son of the late Karl Phillip and Wilda Gent.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Ruben (Lois), and his son, David.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn (Dickerson), of Foster, WV; sister, Kitty (Frank) Moore, of Norcross, GA; children, Donna (Kenny) Dabbs, of Danville, VA, and Lisa (Corey) Watson, of Richmond, VA; daughter in law, Donna Gent Waggle of Poca, WV; grandchildren, Matthew Gent of Foster, Cheyenne (Austin) Goodman of New Kent, VA, and April Borofka, of Madison, WV; and great-grandchildren, Evalyn Myers, Sabrina Watson, Baylor and Rowan Goodman.  

Karl Ed joined the U.S. Air Force at 17 and then worked for General Motors in Delaware when he met Lynn, the love of his life.  They married, moved to WV, and spent 57 years together building a beautiful life.  Karl Ed’s favorite pastime was sitting on his porch swing with his wife by his side, drinking a hot cup of tea.  

He will be dearly missed by family and friends, but they are rejoicing that he is with his Lord and Savior and is no longer in pain.  

To honor his wishes, no services will be held.
