Katherine Lynn Workman born March 14, 1954 in Madison, WV passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Margaret White; sister, Royena White; and son, Michael, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike; sister, Darlene Gunnoe; daughters, Amy (Oliver) Wilson and Sabrina (Sam) Elswick; step-daughter, Lisa (Clint) Richardson; grandchildren, Britney Wilson, Angel Wilson, Herbie Wilson, George Wilson, Wesley Elswick, Seth Elswick, Selena Elswick, Hosanna Jennings, Sabrina Kincaid, Christian Jennings, Dalton Kincaid, Danielle Richardson and Bryana Richardson; and special niece Tammy Gunnoe and nephew Danny Gunnoe who helped care for Kathy during her illness.
Kathy was a Christian being a member of the Church of Christ in Bandytown. Kathy, Mike, granddaughters, Britney and Angel enjoyed their volunteer service with National MS Society Blue Ridge Chapter. She was former employee at Walmart in Southridge, Charleston, WV. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved and cared for her family, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She will be greatly missed by all.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Timmy Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Mid Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
