Kelly H. (Joe) Elswick

Kelly Howard (Joe) Elswick 58 of South Charleston, WV formerly of Peytona went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2014 after a long illness.
He was born Jan. 23, 1956 to the late Chester Gene and Elgie Halstead Elswick, also preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Dale Elswick, and grandparents, Howard and Dooley Elswick, and Callie and Myrtle Halstead.
He was a member of the UMWA, president of Local #2286 and worked at Hobet
Mining for 30 years. He was a graduate of Sherman High School.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Joyce Elswick, daughter; Tonya Burdette, sons; Travis and Joseph (JD) Elswick, sister; Donna Moore, grandsons; Austin and Joey Burdette, Alec Hunt and Bryce Burgess, and granddaughters; Bailey Meadows, and Desiree Hunt, stepdaughter; Angela Hunt, stepson; Craig Burgess, Aunt Sue, Aunt Barb and Uncle Bill.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 Handley Funeral Home, Danville with David Minturn officiating.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
