Kenneth Darrell Hale, 81, of Racine, WV was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 28, 2018, following a long illness, where he was welcomed with open arms by a loving wife of 55 years and a host of family and friends that have went Home before him.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Army (1955-1957) and retired from Kroger Co. with 29 years of dedicated service to the trucking industry.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Patty Hale; parents, Tom and Verna Hale and step-mother Violet Hale; brothers, Thomas Hale, Edward Hale and James Hale; and sister, Betty McKinney.
He is survived by brothers, Bobby Hale (Tammy) of Madison, WV and Freddie Hale (Cathy) of Racine, WV; sisters, Vernia Bell Pritchard of Danville, WV, Jewell Hale of Danville, WV, Eloise Lucas of Madison, WV, Carolyn Berry (Fred) of Danville, WV and Dottie Jarrell (Gary) of Rosedale, IN; children, Kenneth Hale Jr. (Stella) of St. Albans, WV and Cindy Chandler (Danny) of Racine, WV; grandchildren, Katrina Ramey (Adam) of East Bend, NC, Emily Hale (companion Fred) of Merritt Island, FL, Daniel Chandler (Sheila) of Peytona, WV, Tonya Buffington of Kanawha City, WV, Joey Gibson (Paula) of Hurricane, WV, Heather Cummings (Jason) of Dunbar, WV and Candice Krebs of Dunbar, WV; great-grandchildren, Jordan Ramey, Shaylynn Ramey, Alex Chandler, Austin Chandler, Josie Gibson and Chelsy Terry; and great-great-grandchildren, Marshall and McKenna Terry.
We would like to thank all who assisted in caring for Kenneth during his illness, Pamela Hale, Freddie Hale, Junior Hale, Patty Young, Home Health Care of Danville and Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston and Veterans Administration of Huntingon, WV.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Garry Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV with military rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 of Madison, WV. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
