Larry Darrell Adkins, 73, of Chapmanville passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
He was born January 30, 1947, son of the late Carmel and Rebel Adkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Adkins; sister, Sharon Harmon; and brother, Jerry Woodrum.
He was a retired truck driver, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by daughters, Rita (Bobby) Gillenwater of Harts, Jennifer (James) Sanders of Hamlin, Michelle Bunting of Danville, Christy Mitchell of Danville, and Bobbi Ann Adkins of Chapmanville; sons, Jackie Adkins of Alkol, Larry “Sam” (Peggy) Adkins of Danville, and Ricky Queen of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother-in-law, Jackie Harmon of Chapmanville; sister-in-law, Linda Woodrum of Big Ugly, Harts; special niece, Charlene Adkins of Big Ugly, Harts; two special nephews, Tony Woodrum of Michigan and Michael Woodrum of West Madison; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of many family and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2020 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Rev. Billy Silva officiating. Burial will follow in Ferrell Cemetery, Big Ugly.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 20 at the funeral home.
