Evangelist Larry Jackson Napier, 43, of Danville, WV met his Blessed Savior face to face Sunday morning, November 4, 2018. He was born May 18, 1975 at the Dr. G. O. McClellan Clinic in West Hamlin, the son of Lonnie Jackson and Nancy Napier of Ranger, WV.
He was a 1993, graduate of Harts High School and a heavy equipment operator at the Bandmill Plant for 18 years. He was a member of Meadow Fork Freewill Baptist Church.
On August 23, 2003 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. On July 17, 2005 he met the love of his life, Rose Spencer, and made her his bride on October 27, 2007. In 2006 he answered the call to preach the Gospel, which he has done faithfully for the last 12 years. Sunday morning he was getting ready to go into Guyan Freewill Baptist Church to preach one more message, but before he could get in the church the Lord decided to call him home.
Larry had a lifelong love of hunting and being in the outdoors. He loved being out in God’s creation and watching the sun come up in the mountains. He was able to combine his love of hunting and preaching the Word of God through Face Book videos recorded out in the woods.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady Shelton Sr. and wife Druzella, and Papaw Pearley Jackson Napier.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years and eight days, Rose Napier; father and mother, Lonnie Jackson and Nancy Napier; brother, Brian Jackson Napier; grandmother, Lucille Napier; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of family and friends.
He will be missed by his special nieces and nephews, Thea, Jorja, and Carter; and his little preaching buddy, Braxton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Eric Rakes, Donald Lovejoy and Timmy Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
