Larry Rexford Workman Sr., 79, of Danville, WV passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was born February 8, 1937 at home on Six Mile Road. He was a son of the late Winfred Willis Workman and Dorothy Pearl Spencer Workman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Workman Jr., and Charlie Workman; a daughter, Katherine Workman; brothers, Kenneth Workman and Ralph Workman; and his sister, Etheleen Green.
He served in the US Army from 1962 to 1968, touring in Germany. He worked many years with his father, Winfred selling produce to many in Boone County. He retired from Lynn Coal Company in 1986. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and friend. He gave his heart to the Lord April 16, 2010. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors with his dog Binky and working on old cars.
Larry is survived by his beautiful bride of 54 years, Lois Workman of Six Mile; his son, Larry Workman III of Calera, Alabama; his daughters, Kristina (Timothy) Casto of Chapmanville, WV and Melissa Dyer of Teays Valley, WV; 12 grandchildren, Cameron Workman, Chelsea Workman, Skye Evans, Brittany Casto, Timothy Casto, Phillip Workman, Josh Terry, Chris Hardin, Tayler Dyer, Sarah Dyer, Lindsey Dyer and Abigail Dyer; seven great grandchildren; and three sisters, Marion Workman, Lana Ferrell, and Cornelia Bolton.
Visitation will be 6 p.m Friday, November 25, 2016 at Six Mile Methodist Church. Funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with Jeff Mosteller officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Family Cemetery, Six Mile.
