Laura Bell Webb, 88, of Ranger WV died peacefully at home on Monday, November 3, 2014. Born August 31, 1926, in Oak Hill WV. Laura was the daughter of the late William and Stella Smith.
Preceding her in death was her loving husband of 49 years, the late Clifford Webb, one son, Donald Webb, one son-in-law Glenn Wiley, one step-grandson Johnny Ward, three brothers, William (Smitty) Smith, Rush Smith, and Jim Smith, and one sister, Wilda Smith.
Those left behind to cherish her memory, are one brother, Robert Smith, and one sister, Ann Duchane, five children and their spouses, Wandell Lee Webb and wife Lisa of South Carolina, Jean Ann Vance and husband Johnny of North Carolina, Linda Sue Mott and husband Ted of Ranger WV, David Allen Webb and wife Donna of Ranger WV, and Christine Hope Wiley of Ranger WV. Laura had 12 grandchildren, Laura Geiger, David Scott Webb, Lyndsey Webb, James Vance, Cheryl Ward, Scott Ward, Bobby Ward, Patricia Johnson, Michael Johnson Jr., Korena Klein, Clifford Webb, and LeaAnn Snodgrass. Laura had 8 very special great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted member of the Ranger United Baptist Church. In addition, during World War II, Laura worked in Detroit, Michigan on an aircraft assembly line, better known as Rosie the Riveters. Laura will always be remembered for her warmth and compassion for others, her never ending smile, and her positive outlook on life.
Laura's viewing will be on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 6-8:00 pm, with services on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 1:00 pm, at McGhee/Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin, WV. Burial will be in the Webb Family Cemetery in Ranger.
