Lawrence “Joe” Miller, 86, passed on January 1, 2013 to be with the Lord after a short illness.
He was born on June 27, 1926 at Bim, WV and was a son of the late Lee and Essie Miller. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jenine.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He retired as a Foreman from Westmoreland Coal Company where he worked for 22 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was also a member of The Oddfellows.
He was a beloved father and the world’s greatest grandpa and will be sadly missed. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, and was an avid Marshall fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Reneée (Clay) McClellan of Midlothian, Virginia; son, Brian Kevin (Myrtle) Miller of Salem, Virginia; granddaughters, Andrea McClellan Kozuch of Midlothian, Virginia, Ashton Miller of Salem, Virginia and Morgan Miller of Salem, Virginia; and great-grandson, Jack Kozuch of Midlothian, Virginia.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Dr. Frank Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
