Lena Bell Love

June 4, 1928 — April 9, 2015

Our precious mother Lena Bell Love age 86, who we so dearly love left this world to go spend eternity with her Lord and Savior on April 9, 2015.

She was born on June 4, 1928 to the late Sterling Bell and Pauline Mae Legg. Others preceding her in death were her husband, James E. Love, sister, Anna Marie Legg, stepfather, Gus Laird, son in law, Robert Miles and great grandson, Evan Workman.

She was totally devoted to her God, her husband, her children and family. She was a best friend to all her neighbors and church family. She was giving and forgiving to everyone and gave an unconditional love to all…along with her peanut butter candy.

She was a long time member of the Barrett Nazarene Church, where she served her Lord and His church as Music/Choir Director, soloist, Sunday School teacher, Missionary Society President, Church Board Treasurer and Secretary and the Nazarene Zone Missionary Society. She loved writing skits for church programs and many of them were used by other churches in their services. She was loved by so many and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.

She was a perfect example of motherhood and godliness to her children and grandchildren. She was our rock and the glue that held our family together. She Taught us the meaning of “family” and she Showed us the meaning of “love”. She was our angel on earth. Now Heaven has gained Our Angel and Heaven’s choir has gained her beautiful angelic voice.

She always leaned to watch for us
Anxious if we were late,
In winter by the window
In summer by the gate.
And though we mocked her tenderly
Who had such foolish care,
The long way home would seem more safe.
Because she waited there.
Her thoughts were all so full of us,
She never could forget.
And so I think that where she is
She must be watching yet.
Waiting ‘til we come home to her
Anxious if we are late,
Watching from Heaven’s window,
Leaning from Heaven’s gate.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory sister; Mary Ellen Campbell, St. Albans, WV, children; James R. Love (Mary), Clinton, TN, Susan A. Childers (Terry) Belle, WV, Larry A. Love, Cazy, WV, Virginia M. Miles-Webb (Patrick) Cumberland Gap, TN, Marilyn M. Jones (Bruce) Tazewell, TN, Daphne K. Reynolds (Tim) Fort Lawn, SC, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Roy Lyons officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be l p.m. Tuesday, following a Chapel service at Montgomery Memorial Park, London, WV.

We wish to express our appreciation to everyone for their love and concern shown through prayer, phone calls and cards during mother’s long illness.
