Lillie Edith Burton

Lillie Edith Stewart Burton, 95, of Hamlin, WV died Tuesday April 5, 2022. She was born October 3, 1926 in Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late Elmer and Nettie Lucas Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband Billy J. Burton, married June 7, 1972; siblings, Glennith Fry, Guynith “Peggy” Riley, Mary Hooser, and Noah Stewart; niece and nephews, Brenda Yeager, Bruce Fry and Butch Hall. She was a Biology Teacher at Duval High School for 30 years. She retired from the Lincoln County Board of Education with a Masters + 30.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Barbara Fry of Hamlin, Beverly Hall of Chatsworth, Ga, Bradley (Melissa) Fry of Arcadia, FL, Bernard (Carrie) Riley of Ringgold, Va and Basil Riley of Auburndale, FL; great nieces and nephews, Khristina Jones of Hamlin, WV, Julie Yeager Prichard of Charleston, WV, Joshua Yeager of Hurricane, WV, Amy Yeager of Charleston, WV, Leann Fry Valencia of Dalton, Ga, Eric Fry (Joshua Storey) of Dalton, Ga, Shawn Fry of Hamlin, WV, Jonathan (Becky) Hall of Dalton, Ga, Thomas (Meagan) Hall Chatsworth, Ga, Brandi Fry of Naples, FL; Charles Arnold Riley of Vinton Va, Jesse Riley of Blairs, Va, and Sarah Riley of Chatham, Va.; seven great great nieces and nephews; one great great great niece.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday April 10, 2022 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV with Jeff Black officiating. The burial will be Lincoln Memorial Park, Hamlin, WV. A visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Saturday at the funeral home.
