Linda Lucille Brake, 69, of Morrisvale went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2015 at her home surrounded by her three loving daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denzel “Dink” Brake; her father, Hershel Nelson; and her brother, Bruce Nelson Sr.
She was born May 1, 1946 at Woodville to Hershel and Leona “Alice” Browning Nelson. She was a homemaker and a babysitter. She was a devout Christian and a loving mother. She was a member of Maple Hill Baptist Church, Morrisvale where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Steve) Smith of Julian, Beverly (Jeff) Mosteller of Sissonville and Charlotte Sydnor (Zack Tucker) of Elon, NC; mother, Alice Nelson of Morrisvale; brother, Larry (Doris) Nelson of Streetsboro, Ohio; sisters, Phyllis Cobert of Julian, Ruth (Roger) Hager of Streetsboro, Ohio; and Tami (Rickey) Spurlock of Morrisvale; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Service will be 3 p.m. Friday, November 27 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with her sons-in-law, the Rev. Jeff Mosteller and Steve Smith officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
