Linda Mary Esque White

Linda Mary Esque White, 79, of Hamlin, W.Va., passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. She was born August 29, 1944, in Huntington, the sixth of seven children of the late Paul C. Esque and Gertrude Ross Esque. She retired from Bob Evans after more than 30 years. She was known for her kind, loving heart and generosity to people and animals alike. She loved cooking and baking, drawing, music, gardening and her church family at Hamlin Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 57 years, Walter White; and five of her siblings. She is survived by her children, Randy (Gail) White of Huntington, and Rhonda (Paul Nelson) White of Salt Rock; honorary children Pat Walker of Huntington and Cassie and Robbie Reed of Hamlin; grandchildren Julia White of Fremont, Calif., Alan (Sara) Ashworth of Hamlin and Allyson (John) Chandler of Cross Lanes; honorary grandchildren Amelia, Landon and Nevaya Reed of Hamlin; four great-grandchildren, Leslie, Sophie and Henry Chandler and Carson Ashworth; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Handley Funeral Home in Hamlin, with Pastor Jim Caldwell officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the services. Burial will follow at Fairview Memory Gardens, Hamlin.
