Linda Sue Harris

August 8, 1946 — March 1, 2015

Linda Sue Harris, 68, of Wharton, WV passed away March 1, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington after a short illness.

She was born August 8, 1946 and was a daughter of the late Edgar and Mary Elizabeth Jarrell. She is also preceded in death by sisters, Charlene Halstead and Jane Welch; and brothers, Arley Jarrell and Dickie Jarrell.

She was a member of Morning Star House of Prayer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. She enjoyed going to church with her sister Wanda Ross and loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors are her husband of 43 years, Mondell Harris of Barrett; daughter, Angel (Tim) Hicks of Greenwood; son, Mondell Harris II of Barrett; grandchildren, Holly Jo Hicks of Greenwood, Payton Hicks of Greenwood and Jalen Harris of Barrett. She is also survived by one brother, Carmel Jarrell of Bald Knob; three sisters, Wanda (Larry) Ross of Ridgeview, Mary (Johnny) Barker of Ridgeview and Grace Workman of Ashford; a host of nieces and nephews who loved her so much; and her sweet little yorkie puppy, Lou Lou who she loved dearly.

The family would like to take the time to thank the nurses and staff at Boone Memorial Emergency Room for the care she received and the entire staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the excellent and compassionate care she received while there.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Scotty Elswick officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
