Lisa Kay Hager-Cox, 51, of Toney’s Branch Road, Bloomingrose, WV passed away May 13, 2016 at her home after a long illness.
She was born December 15, 1964 to the late Samuel B. Hager and Helen M. Abshire-Hager of Drawdy, WV in Boone County. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Carl Richard Hager; niece Sandra Cox; and a sister-in-law Patty Hager who was like a mother to her.
Lisa loved arts and crafts (especially painting). She was a big fan of actor Russell Crowe and spending time working in her yard planting flowers. She also loved spending time with her son Josh on Saturday mornings going to the movies.
She is survived by her husband, John M. Cox; and Superman son Joshua M. Cox also of Toney’s Branch Road; brothers, Ronnie Hager of Drawdy, Earnie (Carron) Hager of Ripley; sisters, Beverly (Greg) Hager-Milam of Toney’s Branch and Twila Hager-Milam of Drawdy; nieces and nephews, James (Christan) Milam, Anita (Mark) Parsons, Jason Hager, Jarrod (Lisa) Hager, Justin (Amber) Hager, Corey(Sierra) Hager, and James Cox, great nephews, Nicholas, Braxton, Cordell, Zyler, Dexton and Gannon, great niece Kayla.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 15, Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with Roger Halstead officiating. Burial will follow in Harless Cemetery, Drawdy.
