Lois Odroll Wade Kinder, 95, passed away at home in South Charleston on March 15, 2014.
She was born in Boone County on May 6, 1918, a daughter of the late Dennis Cleveland and Myrtle Cline Wade. A longtime resident of Nellis, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kinder; a son , Paul Edward Kinder; a sister, Lola Wiley; and five brothers, Vohn, Oshel, Carl, Lonnie and Glen Wade.
She is survived by four sisters, Madge Wade of South Charleston, Beulah Ash of Frankfort, Ill., Maxine Booker of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Toka Field of Hurricane; as well as 18 nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Sherman High School and earned a degree in education from Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston). Lois influenced generations of children as an elementary school teacher in Boone County for 35 years. She was a member of Wesleyan Church, Nellis, where she taught Sunday school and served as church secretary for many years.
A graveside service was held at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 18 at Boone Memorial Park, Madison. Handley Funeral Home, Danville was in charge of arrangements.
