Lorraine Harper of Madison, formerly of Bandytown, WV passed away on September 4, 2016. She attended the Madison Baptist Church. She was a postmaster in Bandytown for many years and cooked for the Madison Rotary Club.
She was the daughter of the late Dallas and Effie Pettry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Cooper Harper; son, Larry Cooper Harper; brothers, Byrd, Elwood, Jimmy, Henry and Joey; and sisters, Imogene Baxter, Irene Adwell and Indra Chambers.
She is survived by her son, Norman Lee (Ernestine) Harper of Madison; daughter-in-law, Pamela Harper of Madison; grandchildren, Melissa (Richard) Knight, Holly (Shawn) Miller, Eric (Heather) Harper and Melanie (Jason) Allen; great-grandchildren, John Paul Abbott, Sarah Blosser, Alex Miller, Hayden Miller, Griffin Miller, Madison Allen, Ivory Harper and Lucy Harper; and one great-great-grandson, Cooper Blosser.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Jim Butcher and Bill Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
