Lorraine Marcum

Lorraine Marcum, 90, of Nellis, WV was born August 23, 1932 at Logan, WV a daughter of the late Rones and Illie White Chambers. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at her home.

She went to church all her life at the Nellis Church of Christ. She loved quilting blankets, watching and feeding hummingbirds, feeding baby birds for breeders, flowers and planting them, her country music and gospel music, canning things from her garden, western movies, and raising and incubating chickens and turkeys. She had a green-thumb and could grow anything just from a stem of any plant. She loved her lil’ dachshund (weenie dog) Zoey. She was so loved by everyone not just her family.  She will be deeply missed by all. She was an amazing person who would help anyone (strangers or family).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, Thomas Marcum and her second husband of 18 years, Charles Lohrenz; her sister Lillian Chambers; son John Marcum; daughter-in-law Thelma Marcum; grandmother on her mother’s side Rosella White; and grandfather on her dad’s side William Pierce Chambers.

Survivors include her children, Kevin Marcum of Ashford, WV and Kristina Adkins (Robert) of Foster, WV; brother William Chambers of Nellis; grandkids, Greg Estep (Tina) of Ridgeview, WV, John Marcum (Tiffany) of Costa, WV, Kelly Waun (Don) of Cass City, MI, Melinda Mullins (Steven) of Bradenton, FL, Melissa Webb (Michael) of Sylvester, WV, Samantha Marcum (Chris) of South Charleston, WV, Robert Adkins and Chandler Hayes both of Nellis, and Wyatt Lohrenz, Nigel Jones, all of South Charleston,  Ryan Carpenter of Foster, WV and Jeffery Adkins of South Charleston, WV; great grandkids, Greg Estep, Jr., Jacob Estep, Isaiah Marcum, Taylor (Kevin) Neumann, Abby Mahaffey, Logan Griffith, Lauren Mullins, Alyssa Mullins, Dylan Webb, Mason Webb, Skyh Amyx, Vitallanie Amyx, Lachlan Cline, Rowen Cline, and Freya Cline; great-great grandkids, Loretta Neumann, Elle Neumann, Blake Neumann, Benson Duvall, and Little John Estep; and nieces and nephews, Frank (Nichole0 Chambers of Foster, and Billie Jean Adkins of Ridgeview.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Handley Funeral Home Danville, WV with Stevie Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Gardens at Low Gap Road, Madison, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
