Macie Mae Adkins, 85, of Four Mile Creek Road, Branchland, WV went to be with the Lord and to sing in Heaven's choir on March 16, 2014 at her home with loved ones and close relatives by her side. Macie is survived by her husband William Mack Adkins. They were married for 67 years. She is also survived by her three children, Jerry Adkins, Jeanette Pritchard and David Bragg and wife Tamara Bragg all of Branchland, WV. Three grandchildren, Bridget (Pritchard) Bishop and husband Jerry Bishop of Salt Rock, WV, Katrina (Bragg) Ramey and husband Jarred Ramey of West Hamlin, WV, and Brittany (Bragg) Porter and husband Shawn Porter of Salt Rock, WV. Great grandchildren include: Derek Pinkerman and wife Chastity, Brianna (Pinkerman) Kiser and husband RJ Kiser, Kolton Beckleheimer, Kadin Beckleheimer, Kellen Ramey, Jarred Ramey Jr., Aston Burton, Christian Burton, Kamden Porter and two step great grandchildren Gabriel and Annabelle Bishop. Surviving siblings include; one sister Margalee Adkins of Wayne, WV, and two brothers; Homer Wooten and wife Mayple of Wayne, WV, and Henry (Dude) Wooten and wife Minta Wooten of East Lynn, WV.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Aley and Ethel Wooten of East Lynn, WV, four brothers; Ervin Wooten, Berl Wooten, Earl Wooten, and Franklin Wooten.
Sister Macie was a devoted member of the Four Mile Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Pilgrim Four Quartet for more than 20 years. She truly loved spreading the word of God through her love of singing. Macie was dedicated to taking care of her special needs son, Jerry Adkins and loved nothing more than to be with her family. She will be forever missed by her daughter Jeanette to whom she was not only a mother but a best friend.
Pallbearers include: Dale Adkins, David Adkins, Danvel Adkins, RJ Kiser, Derek Pinkerman and Jerry Bishop.
Services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin, WV with Brother Jimmie Carter and Brother Donald (Smokey) Hager officiating. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery in East Lynn, WV. The viewing will be one hour prior to the funeral.
