Margaret Aileen Parsons

Margaret Aileen Parsons, 93, from Drawdy WV passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 after a long illness. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew; parents Joe and Jessie Huff; son James (Bimbo) Parsons; grandson Brian Baisden; sons-in-law Sonny Baisden and Clyde Nelson; sisters Ann and Rena; and brothers Johnny, Oscar, Ted, Zeke, and Willie Huff.

She is survived by her loving family, daughters Jessie Baisden, Charlotte Nelson, and Lori (Jerry) Painter; son Joe (Margie) Parsons; daughters-in-law Pam Parsons and Pat Parsons; grandchildren Jamie (Betty) Baisden, Chad (Kristy) Nelson, Chris (Rachel) Nelson, Brandy (Shawn) Taylor, Travis (Anna) Parsons, Jenny (Michael) Ellis, Tara (David) Chandler, Ashley Painter (Remmy), Tyler Painter (Whitney), Joseph Parsons (and mother Andrea Adkins); great grandchildren Heather and Jamie Baisden, Matt Baisden, Alyssa and Kayla Nelson, Nicholas Nelson (Selena), Mattie Nelson, Savannah (Tyler) Carr, Dylan and Kaleb Taylor, Cole, Jake and Ellie Parsons, Addilynn and Tilly Ellis, Chris and John Chandler; numerous nieces and nephews; and her family from Mountain View FWB Church.

Margaret was loved by everyone who knew her, and she always made everyone feel that same love in return. She was well known for her biscuits and gravy and lemonade. She was sweet, kind and sassy. She could light up a room with her smile and would surprise you with a wisecrack that made everyone snicker. In the summer you could always find her on the front porch swing surrounded by her family. Sunday dinners were always a time for everyone, and she made sure that there was something on the table that everyone liked. 

Our family would like to thank the Home Hospice nurses from Kanawha Hospice and the Hubbard House staff for their loving care for our mom. 

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 4 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Drawdy Cemetery, Drawdy, WV.
