Margaret Emogene Porter

Margaret Emogene “Pratt” Porter, of Branchland, WV, widow of Pearlie C. Porter, has gone to her “Heavenly Home” at the age of 103 on December 4, 2017.
She leaves behind three children; Jimmie Lee Porter of Midlothian, VA, Betty Joyce Spears of Huntington, WV, and Judith Gayle Newman of Branchland, WV; three sisters, Mary Harvey of Huntington, WV, Elizabeth Cremeans of Huntington, WV and Lavona Fry of Ona, WV; a special friend, Evelyn Greff of Midlothian, VA; 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was a member of Mt. Moriah United Baptist Church, and a chaplain for the Ladies Aid group. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to caretakers at Chateau Grove and Lincoln Nursing and Rehab; and also McGhee-Handley Funeral Home West Hamlin, WV.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday December 7, 2017 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home West Hamlin with Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Porter Family Cemetery, Branchland.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Thursday.
