Martin Dolin, Jr.

Martin Dolin, Jr. 97 of Foster, WV passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.

He was born on August 4, 1925 and was the son of the late Martin W. and Nancy Doss Dolin of Foster, WV.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Bethel Dolin, Clarence Dolin, Freeman Dolin, Dennis Dolin, Andrew Dolin, and sister Mary B. Dolin and granddaughter Alexandria Smith.

He is survived by the love of his life, of 71 years Elizabeth (Betty) Miller Dolin; his sons Bruce W. Dolin of Foster, WV and Mark R. Dolin (Pam) of Madison, WV; and daughter Sharon S. Nichols (J.R.) of Charleston, WV.  Five grandchildren Elijah B. Dolin, Joshua M. Dolin (Danica), Derek D. Nichols, Nicholas A. Dolin (Suellen), Sarah B. Dolin (Frank), and Nautica S. Cohenour Dolin and seventeen great grandchildren.

He retired with 35 years from DuPont in Belle, WV.  He was a certified machinist, electrician, and millwright.  He was a carpenter and built his own home, and garage.  He proudly served in the United States Army in WWII where he earned two Bronze Service Stars.  He was a member of the VFW Post 5578 of Madison, WV.  As a young man he earned Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America.  He donated 20 plus gallons of blood to the Red Cross, he was on call to area hospital blood banks.  He was a long time member of Foster Church of Christ at Foster, WV where he enjoyed leading songs to correspond with the teachings.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with minister Wendell Hill officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Madison WV.

Friends may call one hour prior the service.
