Marty Edward Deck, 45, of Bald Knob, WV departed this world on December 18, 2013.
Marty was a 1986 graduate of Scott High School and was employed by Patriot Coal Company as a maintenance foreman. He was an MSHA Instructor; an EMT; a member of the Mine Rescue Team; and a certified electrician. He was a member of the Bandytown Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; sons, Jonathan Deck and Drew Price at home; daughters, Kristen Deck of Orangeburg, SC and Rachel Deck of Huntington, WV; parents, Marvin and Molly Deck of Jeffrey, WV; brother and sister-in-law, David and Rachel Deck and their daughter Madalyn of Foster, WV.
Marty loved to take his family camping, fishing, hunting and loved taking care of his family. He was one of the sweetest men you could ever be fortunate enough to meet.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Timmy Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
