Marvin Dexter Dent, 64, of Madison, WV passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 after a long illness at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Clifford “Bill” Dent and Iona Marie Baldwin Dent.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janet “Liz” Dent of Madison, WV; his daughter and son-in-law, Allyson and Calvin Allen of Westerville, Ohio; his daughter and son-in-law, Hannah and Randy Bryant of Cross Lanes, West Virginia; his son, William Dent of Westerville, Ohio; his sister, Marsha Dent of Hewett, West Virginia; and his granddaughter, Ava Allen of Westerville, Ohio. He also leaves behind many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
He was employed for 25 years by Progress Coal Company as a warehouse technician. He was a faithful member of the Uneeda Church of Christ. He was a huge Marshall fan.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston, West Virginia for their care and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to be made in his honor to Hubbard Hospice House – 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311 or the Julia Price Breast Cancer Foundation – PO Box 1026, Madison, WV 25130.
Per his wishes he was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Louis Watts and Roger Dingess officiating.
