Mary Elizabeth Elswick, 68, of Robinson, WV went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 after a short illness. She was born in Emily Creek, Kentucky on January 21, 1945.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ira Etters, Sr. and Bertha Simpkins Etters of Hatfield, KY; and brothers, Johnny Etters and Leonard Etters.
She was a loving wife and mother. She retired from the coal mining industry in 1986 and was a member of the U.M.W.A.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Phillip R. Elswick of Robinson WV; sisters, Shirley Fabin of Williamson, KY, Goldie Fisher of Circleville, OH and Garnett Willson of Athens, OH; brothers, Ira Etters, Jr. of Nolan, KY and Norman Etters of Roseville, OH; children, James (Diana) Powell of Louisburg, NC, Ricky Powell of Franklinton, NC, Lisa (Andrew) Jones of Van, WV, Phillip Elswick,Jr. of Madison, WV and Sam (Sabrina) Elswick of Twilight, WV; grandchildren, Krissia Powell, Harley Powell, Selena Elswick, Robert Valle, Michael Valle,II, Wesley Elswick, Seth Elswick and Taylor Santy; one great-grandson Christian Valle; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Sunday, February 3rd at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Jack Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Etters Cemetery, Emily Fork, Pilgrim, KY.
