Mary Louella Brown died October 16, 2023 in Charleston, West Virginia.
Mary was born on November 27, 1955 in Madison, West Virginia to Harry C. “Brownie” and
Marvine Brown.
She graduated from Scott High School in 1974 and Glenville State College in
1978. For thirty-three years Mary inspired students and supported fellow teachers at Van,

around her. Mary’s friends and the memories they made together meant the world to her. She
loved going to lunch, movies, traveling, word searches, and Facebook. Her fur babies, Toby,
Missy, Sammy and Leo were always spoiled. She was a loving wife to C.E. Kinder. Mary was
adored by her four brothers and their families.
Mary was a lifelong member of Madison United Methodist Church and an active member of the
Ann Robinson Circle. She volunteered with Boone Memorial Health Auxiliary at the registration
desk where she welcomed everyone. She enjoyed giving back to the Julia Price Breast Cancer
Foundation which supported her throughout her cancer journey.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, brothers Mickey and Patrick Brown and husband C.E.
Kinder.
