Mary Stollings Perdue, 94, of Dog Fork, Manila, West Virginia passed away February 8, 2018 at Dignity Hospice House, Chapmanville. She was born October 31, 1923 on Hollywood Branch, Boone County, to the late Willie and Edna Stollings. She was a lifelong member of Manila Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning, reading and working crossword puzzles. Mary along with her husband Glenn owned and operated Perdue Grocery.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Glenn of 53 years; four brothers; four sisters; and an infant granddaughter, Sara Beth.
She is survived by daughter, Judy of Manila, her constant caregiver with whom she resided; three sons, Steve (Cindy) of Charleston, Roger (Patti) of Fairmont, and State Treasurer John (Robin) of Cross Lanes; four granddaughters, Shelle Miller and Amanda Hamilton of Fairmont, Jessica Perdue of Fairfax, Virginia, and Emily Perdue of Morgantown; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Miller, Kaelin Hamilton and Brody Hamilton, all of Fairmont.
The family would like to thank the staff of Dignity Hospice House for their kind and compassionate care.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 12 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Jim Owsten and Ron Abshire officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
