Matthew Gregory Hicks, 62, of Branchland, WV went to be with the Lord Saturday September 26, 2015. He was born September 4, 1953 in Huntington, WV, a son of Patricia J. Hicks of Branchland and the late Donald Hicks. He was employed at Northwestern Railroad. Matthew was an avid lover of classical music, horses and nature. He had a generous spirit and would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed.
Additional survivors include his sisters and brothers, Dawnetta (Mike) Burns of Atmore, Ala., Samuel Hicks of Branchland, WV, Gail (Scott) Stapleton of Huntington, WV, Lisa (Eric) Northwood of London, England, Rena (Bill) Gesner of Pearl River, NY, Daniel Hicks of Hobokan, NJ, Joseph Hicks of Branchland, WV and Millicent (Alvin) Frias of Apex, NC; 8 nieces and nephews, 2 grand nephews.
Funeral services will 2:00pm Wednesday September 30, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV. The burial will follow in Goldsbury Cemetery, Sias, WV.
A visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
