Maxwell Allen “Macky” Nelson, 61, of Uneeda passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
He was born March 23, 1953 and was a son of the late Thurmon and Verna Walls Nelson.
Macky’s life was centered around his family. Especially his children. He was an avid fisherman and when his health permitted he would spend time at his camp on the Greenbrier River bass fishing. He also loved to play the guitar, compose his own songs and sing. Macky was the youngest of five brothers and two sisters. Along with his brother J.D. they would pick and sing at the family get togethers. Always a wonderful time. Macky worked and retired as a mechanic with the Board of Education with 37 years of service.
Macky is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Andrea (Ronnie) Nelson of Uneeda and Stacie Jo (Donnie Jr.) Pauley of Faith, NC; one son, Shannon “Shosh” (Melissa) Green of Faith, NC; two sisters, Joyce Lenora Cole and Mary Bolen both of St. Petersburg, FL; four brothers, Romey (Wanda) Nelson of Lick Creek, Terry (Betty) Nelson of Lick Creek, Tommy (Sue) Nelson of Scary Creek and J.D.
