Melvin Fred Browning, 70, of Lick Creek, Danville, WV peacefully departed this life February 2, 2015 at his home with his loving and devoted wife of 51 years by his side.
He was born May 22, 1944 at Coal Mountain and was a son of the late Mora and Virginia Browning of Gilbert. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Mora Curtis Browning.
He was a truck driver for Gilbert Distributing for 32 years and owner operator for Fred B Trucking and Saw Mill. He attended Cornerstone Family Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Cline Browning; daughters, Hope Browning at home and Jacquetta (Mike) Sheppard of Madison; grandson, Mikey Sheppard of Pikeville, KY and a granddaughter, Jade Sheppard of Madison; sister, Sue (Bob) Miller of Hinckley, Ohio; brothers, Terry (Wanda) Browning of Gilbert, Danny (Sharon) Browning also of Gilbert, David (Sharon) Browning of Ocala, Fla., Richard (Linda) Browning also of Ocala, Fla. and Jay (Carol) Browning of Gilbert; and a host of nephews, nieces and many close and dear friends.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
