Mercialain White

Mercialain "Boogie" White of Uneeda, WV passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, at Boone Memorial Hospital with her 2 daughters by her side. 

She was born April 26, 1935 in Uneeda, the daughter of Otto and Maude Holstein, She grew up in Uneeda, along with 2 brothers and 6 sisters. Boogie was married to Robert "Bob" White for 54 years. She worked at Madison Animal Hospital for over 30 years, where she met many people and several of them became lifelong friends.

She is survived by her daughters Katrina Brown (Jerry) and Sheila White (Bruce); grandchildren Kimberly Gibson, Carrie Burns, Justin Brown, Holly Brown; great grandchildren Daniel Gibson (Casey), Jazmyn Gibson (Kalen Booth); and many nieces and nephews. Mercialain became "Mamaw Boogie" to many, because of her love, generosity and kindness.

Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm Friday, March 8, 2024 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV followed by a graveside service at Madison Memory Garden located at Lowgap, WV.

Special thanks to the entire staff at Boone Memorial for the kindness, care, and compassion that was shown to us, her family and "especially" to our MOM. 

Also, a special thanks to her granddaughter "Kim" for the love and care she gave for the past 2 years that allowed mom to remain in her home until her death.
