Michael Dewayne Akers was born May 16, 1963 and passed away at home Feb. 22, 2015.
He is the son of William Akers of Clothier, WV and Margaret (Richard) McClure of North Fork. Mike was preceded in death by his brother Ernie Akers, grandparents Candice Lucas and Mabel and Ernie Porter and stepmother Mary Jane Wills.
He is survived by his parents, a brother; Tim Akers and sister; Pamela Bender both of Clothier, stepbrother; Richard (Colleen) McClure of Missouri, stepsisters; Michelle (Delmar) Browning of Julian, Johni Lynn (Danny) Sutphin of Clothier, Thelma Carr of Petersburg and Laura (Adrian) Baisden of Fairmont and special friend Janie Meadows of Madison. He leaves behind nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Ralph Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in Pauley-Bias Cemetery, Clothier, WV.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
