Michael Jo Ballard

Michael Jo Ballard, 63, of Washington Heights, Danville, WV passed away March 28, 2024.

He was born January 16, 1961 in Madison, WV, a son of the late Randall Ballard and Alma Bias-Wilkins.   He was also preceded in death by his grandparents Adrian and Myrl Ballard and Opie and Gertrude Bias; his siblings Drema Sue Ballard, Patrick Ballard, Sharon Kay Ballard-Randal and John Ballard.

He is survived by his wife, Lora Jarrell Ballard; sons, Oliver Ballard of Richmond Hill, GA; daughters, Kayla (Zachary) Whitney of Richmond Hill GA, Adrianna Ballard of Madison, WV and Brea Ballard of Madison, WV; brothers, Ross Ballard of Waco, KY, Perry (Tricia) Ballard of Martinsburg, WV, Adrian (Beatriz) Ballard of Miami, FL, and Paul P.K. (Donna) Ballard of Sissonville, WV; sister, Deneaise (Terry) Price of Danville, WV; and grandchildren, Aravella Mace, Camilla Mace, Ariston Mace, Arden Whitney and K’haleel Ballard.

Michael loved fishing, metal detecting, WVU football, watching Jeopardy, classic cars, watching history documentaries and in his words “Wheelin, dealin and tradin”.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Timmy Bailey and John Runyon officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Ballard Cemetery, Madison, WV.

Visitation will be from Noon until service time on Wednesday.
