Michael Dwayne Dotson, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on March 9, 2025 at the age of 57, surrounded by his family.
Michael was born May 6, 1967, the ninth of nine children, to the late Beulah M. and Corbett Dotson.
He was preceded in death by siblings Junior Greene, Geraldine Price and Diane Pridemore; sisters-in-law Diane Greene and Jewel Greene; and nephews Craig and Herbert Price and John Pridmore.
Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister (and second mother) Drema Greene; sister in his heart Diane Hughes; sister Darlene Butler; brothers Thomas Greene, Ron (Tracy) Greene, John (Stacy) Greene; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael was a very special blessing to us all, he never met a stranger. He grew up in Madison, WV where he graduated from Scott High School. He moved with his mother to Columbus, Ohio in 1995. He worked at ARC Industries for many years where he had many friends. He took part in the Buddy Walk and Special Olympics over the years. He loved Harry Potter, Spiderman, Batman, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and will be in our hearts forever.
Special thanks to Heidi, his caregiver for 16 years, and to Luminary Hospice Care for all of the loving care they provided in his final days.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Handley Funeral Home, 439 Phipps Ave., Danville, WV 25053. Friends and family may visit from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Down Syndrome Association of Central, Ohio, in memory of Mike Dotson at 510 E. North Broadway St., Suite 401, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
