Mildred Elliott-Adkins, 93, of Ranger, WV died September 3, 2013. She was born March 7, 1920 at Hubbell, WV. She was a former Post Master at the Ranger Post Office and a longtime member of Ranger Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lycurgus "L.C." Hatfield Sr. and Susie Gillium-Hatfield; husband, Elderson "Pole" Elliott Jr. and her 2nd husband, Calvary "Cap" Adkins; brothers, Joe Humphrey, Rufus Hatfield and LC "Charlie" Hatfield Jr.; sisters, Elvira Hughes, Ida Neace, Mabel Carter, and Sue Honaker; brothers-in-law Leo Carter, Clyde Clay; sisters-in-law, Dove Hatfield and Kathrine Hatfield, and some special nieces and nephews.
She is survived by one son, Michael Elliott (Ada) of Jacksonville, FL; three daughters, Carol Weisberger of Ranger, WV, Judy Elliott of Wilmington, OH and Wendy Elliott of Scottsdale, AZ; two brothers, Troy Hatfield (Jean) of Miss., and Tom Hatfield (Vonnie) of Ravenna, OH; sisters, Angie Clay of Walnut, Cal, Wilma (Bill) Ford of Whitehouse, TX; brothers-in-law, Dallas Honaker of Whitehouse, TX and Curt Neace of Chicago, Ill.; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends who loved her.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday September 9, 2013 at the Ranger Church of Christ with David Lambert officiating. The burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery, Ranger, WV. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. The family would like to send a special thank you to Theresa Tomblin and family.
