Millie Moore

Millie Moore was born August 9th, 1924 and departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 6th 2015 at Boone Memorial Hospital.

She was married to the late John Moore for 57 years before his death on Dec. 21, 1997. They were residents of Bob White for many years before moving to Alderson, WV. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Whitt and Minerva Gibson; her five brothers, Willie, Sam, PD, Gilbert, and Hubert; and her four sisters, Goldie Lusk, Josie Osborne, Bertha Goldsberry and Nettie Green.

She is survived by her four children, Wayne (Debbie) Moore of Madison, Vada (Buck) Adkins of Hinton, Nada (Larry) Woodie of Foster, and Randy (Sandi) Moore of Alderson. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.

She was a former member of the Freedie FWB Church and a member of the Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church, at Fort Spring.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Boone Memorial Hospital for their care and kindness they have shown their Mother throughout her illness, especially Dr. Kevin Hill, along with Dr. Courtney Adkins, Dr. Vanatter, Melanie Harper Allen and the many nurses and nurses aides that assisted her. Special Thanks to her caregiver Ida Parks. We appreciate all of you.

Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Handley Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Gibson officiating. Friends may call from 12:30 until time of service. Burial will be in Memory Gardens at Low Gap.
