Nancy Sue Ann Mullins

March 10, 1950 — May 31, 2019

Nancy Sue Ann Mullins 69 of Van, WV, born on March 10, 1950 departed this life on May 31, 2019 at CAMC General Hospital. She was the daughter of Orville Lee and Elizabeth Pearl Morris from Seth, WV that preceded her years ago.

Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years; Russell (Rusty) Mullins of Van, WV, her two sons; Rusty (Lesley Cabell)Mullins and Adam and Crystal Mullins also from Van, WV. Along with her six grandchildren she loved so, Gage (20), Darien (18), Alex (18), Luke (15), Alivia (11), Jaxson (9) and her sweet baby Sassy, two brothers, Jimmy and Lola Morris of St. Albans and Bob & Elda Morris of Seth, WV., nieces and nephews that were dear to Sue Ann include, James, Frances, Curtis, Deanie, Doug, Teresa, Missy and Brian.

Thanks to Regina Jarrell for introducing Rusty and Sue Ann in 1973, where their first date to Gateway Drive Inn turned into the couple building a loving home for 45 years in Van, WV.

Sue Ann was a graduate from Sherman High School in 1968. She then went to college and graduated with a Masters Degree with 30+ hours in Education. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gama.

After college Sue Ann started her educational career at Van Jr. Sr. High School as a Social Studies teacher. She fell in love with the community and children she moved to the position of Van’s guidance counselor. Sue Ann continued for 43 years in this position.

During her years at Van Jr. Sr. High School, she took loving pride and became very close to so many students and teaching staff. To all the students, teaching staff, administrators and Boone County schools she loved you dearly. Please know it brought a smile to her heart to be known as “Mom”. Our family is very grateful to all of you.

Sue Ann had a special place in her heart for three unofficial adopted boys, Timmy Spratt, PK Spratt and Mike Spratt. She loved you very much.
Being Youth Director at the Methodist Church in Van gave her so much joy. Sue Ann attended this church for 13 years with her husband.

The family would like to share a Memorial of Sue Ann’s life with everyone on Thursday, June 6, 2019, 5 to 7 p.m. Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV, the memorial service at 7 p.m. with Jim Morris and Alex Mullins officiating.
