Nancy Ann Sammons Sutphin of Seth, WV is resting in the arms of Jesus after battling pancreatic cancer. She was born on April 23, 1957 in Charleston and passed away on May 13, 2014 at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Lena Mae Jackson Sammons; and a half-brother Oliver Ray Muncy.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Edward Sutphin; sons, James Edward and Danielle Sutphin and Richard Hendrix Sutphin all of Seth; brothers, Harrison (Janice) Jackson of Prenter, Anthony (Sharon) Sammons of Morrisvale and Richard Ed (Deanna) Sammons of Seth; sister, Violet (late Bubby) Santonia of Seth; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a retired school teacher from Boone County Schools with 33 and one half years of service. She was a devout member of Hopkins Fork Community Church of Seth and a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association- Grace Riders of Chapmanville.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Hubbard Hospice House, especially Cassie, Katie and Heather. Also thanks to Sallie, Libby and Paula from Hospice Care of WV.
Nancy and the family wish that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Hubbard Hospice House or to a charity of your choice.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Hopkins Fork Community Church, Seth with Danny Kinder and Gary Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Michaels Cemetery, Seth.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. at the church on Friday.
