Naomi Mae Baldwin Thompson of Chapmanville, WV, formerly of Sharples went home in the early hours on September 8, 2015 at home after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 14, 1938 in Logan County, WV, daughter to the late William and Pearl Baldwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thompson; and son, Eric Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Baldwin, Paul Baldwin, Fielden Baldwin, John Baldwin, Hassel Baldwin, Claude Baldwin, Clyde Baldwin and Bobby Baldwin; and sister, Mary Baldwin Willis.
Naomi attended Sharples High School and was a member of Coal Valley Baptist Church. She retired as a cook for P.R.I.D.E. Naomi was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed sewing and crafted many beautiful quilts.
She leaves to mourn, her daughters, Pamela (Jingo) Dunlap of Ottawa, WV; Regina (Jonathan) Ramey of Madison, WV; Jennifer (Kelly) Gore of Chapmanville, WV; her daughter-in-law Kim Martin; her grandsons Eric Thompson of Chapmanville, WV and Joshua Thompson of Jeffrey, WV, Evan and Cory Hall of Powell Creek, WV, Jonah and Seth Ramey of Madison, WV, Brycen Gore of Chapmanville, WV; and her granddaughters Candice Hall of Ottawa, WV and Kelsey Gore of Chapmanville, WV.
Funeral service will be Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 2pm at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with the Rev. Harley Egnor officiating. Burial will follow in Family Memorial Gardens, Low Gap, WV.
Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
